Purple Matters is an A.Bevy initiative that provides the opportunity for people to challenge both themselves and the community to embrace what issues individually matter to them.

In the realm of societal issues, October is world renown as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During this time, pink is visually and emotionally embraced more than any other color in popular and cultural realms. However, October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Every 9 seconds in the U.S. a woman is abused. As young adults face changes and grow more self-aware, A.Bevy shines a light on the color purple in recognition of such. Though breast cancer does statistically affect a nearly incomparable amount of people - Purple Matters allows A.Bevy to stand within the popular and cultural realms and highlight another societal issue that should never be overlooked.

I had to tell my story - and A.Bevy was the avenue I created just for that. Since sitting in that little Swedish apartment, it's amazing to see how far a little idea has become.
